Kyle Schuemann Memorial Kickball Tournament
Theta Chi held it's first annual Kyle Schuemann memorial kickball tournament during the fall 2005 semester. At the suggestion of Brother Scheumann’s family, the proceeds of the kickball tournament benefited B.R.A.D. 21, an organization seeking to promote the responsible use of alcohol. The philanthropy was a tremendous success and helped raise over $6,000. Tau is very excited about the future possibilities of this event and has already begun planning the event for next year.

Sorority Philanthropies
This year, Tau was also an active participant in every sorority philanthropy, as well as numerous other campus and local events. Several weeks after our philanthropy, Tau Chapter was paired with the Ladies of Kappa Alpha Theta for the University of Florida Homecoming. Homecoming took place very shortly after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Southeast United States. Many members of both of our chapters were affected by this tragedy and we decided that to begin the week we would hold a charity dinner to benefit the Red Crosses relief effort. Our Cajun cookout raised approximately $1,000 for the Red Cross

Community Service
Along with our philanthropic efforts, Tau Chapter has also been involved in many service projects. The brothers of Tau Chapter participated in a neighborhood clean up project in the Gainesville community, sponsored a little league baseball team, and participated in the annual Greek blood drive. Tau Chapter believes extending the helping hand goes beyond helping just brothers, and believes in doing work throughout the community.
